AMC Theatres and Hammonds Furniture demonstrate Workvivo as a the logical migration partner to Meta Workplace.

When Meta announced it was shutting down Workplace, many organizations were left asking the same question: what comes next?

For years, Workplace had been the digital home for millions of employees to share updates, recognize their peers’ achievements, and stay connected. Its sunset didn’t just create a technical challenge – it risked disrupting the culture companies had worked so hard to build.

That moment sparked one of the biggest internal comms migrations in recent years, with Workvivo emerging as the platform many organizations chose to move forward with.

Now, we’re celebrating the success of two in particular: AMC Theatres and Hammonds Furniture.

From migration to momentum

Workvivo was named Meta’s only preferred migration partner in May 2024, helping organizations transition smoothly without losing their cultural heartbeat. Since Meta’s announcement, Workvivo has seen rapid growth as global brands didn’t just migrate, but stepped into a more modern, employee-first platform.

In the past year alone, Workvivo:

  • Rapidly expanded its customer base: Customer numbers grew close to 70% year over year, reaching 1,225 organizations.
  • Migrated over 1 billion employee moments: From recognition posts to videos and updates, content was moved safely and seamlessly.
  • Reached 72% mobile usage: Frontline-forward companies have been connecting teams vulnerable to exclusion.
  • Helped companies retire multiple legacy tools: Consolidating internal comms, employee surveys, social feeds, recognition, and more.

Organizations aren’t just replacing Workplace, they’re upgrading how they connect their people.

Why AMC Theatres made the move

With more than 25,000 US associates and 10,000 in Europe, AMC Theatres needed a platform that could unify communications across 800+ locations, reach frontline employees who don’t have a company email or desktop, and sustain the recognition-rich culture that drives service.

AMC Theatres’ HR and comms leaders had to solve for both logistics and emotion. They chose to migrate to Workvivo.

Adam Murphy, the company’s HR Tech & People Analytics Director, says this decision resulted in “a significant shift” in AMC’s internal communications.

“Communications became conversations, and what was previously top-down suddenly became embraced and championed by our team members across the globe,” he shares.

“When we implemented Workvivo, we not only didn’t miss a beat on this strategic journey, we gave it a major boost. It’s not just a platform, it’s a catalyst for engagement. From the moment we launched, we saw teams leaning in, sharing more, and collaborating in ways that felt both natural and energizing.

“Most importantly, Workvivo gives our values a place to come to life – it’s where they’re personified daily through stories, recognition, and authentic employee voice.”

Since the switch, AMC Theatre teams have used Workvivo to power:

  • Peer recognition and storytelling at scale through Spaces like Celebrating Our People, Badges, and livestreamed award programs.
  • Frontline accessibility and engagement, with approximately 90% of US associates active and 70% engaging weekly – primarily on mobile.
  • Omni-channel comms, extending Workvivo content into breakroom slideshows, and other physical spaces.
  • Data-driven strategy and leadership visibility, using analytics to shape content and encouraging leaders at all levels to show up authentically through video.

How Hammonds Furniture is building a more connected workforce

Hammonds Furniture, a leading UK fitted home storage and interiors brand, turned to Workvivo to connect its dispersed teams, strengthen its culture, and simplify internal communications across its national network of employees and partners.

The team needed a single platform that could engage every employee and partner, from headquarters to the frontline, and bring their company culture into one shared space.

Following their migration from Meta Workplace, Workvivo now powers Hammond’s intranet, company-wide updates, learning and development, peer recognition, leadership visibility, social storytelling, and community building, helping everyone stay connected and informed wherever they work.

Sara Lindsay, Hammond’s Head of Learning & Culture, tells us, “Workvivo has transformed how we communicate. It’s brought our people together under one digital roof, giving everyone a voice and helping us celebrate what makes Hammonds special. It’s the heartbeat of our internal culture.”

Since moving to Workvivo, Hammonds has seen:

  • Over 88% activation, with active users growing consistently month over month.
  • A shift towards a feedback culture, which has enabled the team to action change that matters most, driving engagement and collaboration.

What’s next for Workvivo?

As part of Zoom, Workvivo continues to grow as organizations rethink how employees connect, communicate, and feel part of something bigger.

With enterprise-ready features like automated Journeys, large-scale livestreams, and a frontline-first mobile app, the platform is built to scale without losing the human touch.

The shift away from Meta Workplace marked the end of one chapter. For many organizations, Workvivo is helping them write a better next one – where connection, belonging, and shared purpose come first.
