Frontline workers are essential to every industry. From providing patient care to driving delivery trucks, they’re a critical part of our society and economy – and your organization’s success.

Despite being vital members of the team, many frontline employees are experiencing a ‘Frontline Gap’ – the significant divide between desk and non-desk employees that's leaving them feeling disengaged, disempowered, and disconnected.

To understand the impact of this gap – and how to fix it – we surveyed 7,500 global frontline workers across multiple industries, including more than 1,500 from EMEA.

We found that 46% of frontline workers in EMEA say their company cares more about office workers than them.

And if unaddressed, the growing dissatisfaction caused by the Frontline Gap can result in higher attrition and turnover, damage to your employer brand and reputation, and a decline in customer service and overall experience.

Here's a sneak peek at our findings:

  • Lack of recognition is the #1 reason frontline employees in EMEA feel they don’t belong
  • 1 in 5 feel they’ve never been recognized for their work
  • Only 9% are certain their company culture applies to them
  • 39% feel culture is something they hear about but not something they can feel
  • Only 38% say their company culture feels real to them
