vivowire22 – Stan Slap’s Secrets to Building a World-Class Company Culture

Aired On

We hosted our flagship global future of work event, vivowire22, on March 9th – two years after the biggest shift in our workplace in living memory.

The event, which saw 2000+ forward-thinking executives across HR and internal communications come together, featured global experts from industry and academia including Stanford University, Slack, and Sifted to reflect on what’s working at work – and what’s not.

In our keynote talk of the day, Workvivo’s Employee Experience Officer, Gillian French, hosted the fantastic Stan Slap in an engaging (and emotional) discussion on Stan’s ‘Secrets to Building a World-Class Company Culture’.

“What can we do to improve the world? Not much, except to extend our humanity to those around us. I urge you to be human first and a manager second.”

We finished the day with a fireside talk from Stan Slap and it was certainly worth the wait. Chatting with our very own Gillian French, Stan took us on an emotional rollercoaster through the highs and lows of company culture and the tactics for creating an employee experience where people can fulfil their true promise. He also shared his view on the importance (or lack thereof) of values in a company

What can we do to improve the world? Not much, except to extend our humanity to those around us. I urge you to be a human first and a manager second.

In terms of virtual mic drops, they don’t come as strong as this lasting statement from Stan Slap.
