3. What’s going to be migrated

Whether you’re treating your migration as a fresh start and an opportunity to cull outdated content or you’re anxious to capture everything in the move, we have options. Who doesn’t love options?!

We’re collaborating with the Meta team to map content to Workvivo, and our platform has a natural new home for virtually all of your Workplace content.

That means your Workplace groups, group profiles and memberships, users and user profiles, as well as roles like admins and moderators, posts, comments, reactions, knowledge center articles, and more will move over seamlessly.

It’s all thanks to the magic (and lots of very hard work from our product team) of our custom-built migration tool. As Meta’s preferred migration partner, we’re the only platform that can use this tool for a like-for-like seamless transfer.

The result? A migration process that goes far beyond what our competitors can offer. 

Here’s an overview of our data migration options:

Level 1: Structure only – Users, groups, group memberships and roles, and metadata

Level 2: Structure and limited content – All of the above, plus content for a limited time period

Level 3: Structure and all content – All of the above, but as far back as the Workplace export goes

Level 4: Custom – Consultative approach where we work with you to define exactly what you want to migrate and if you want to consolidate or archive groups, or omit certain content types from migration altogether, for example.

4. How it will work – Workplace to Workvivo Migration Flow

The next obvious question is, how will our migration process work? Again, here’s a quick rundown to give you an idea.

1. Start – To start the process, you’ll use Meta Workplace Admin to initiate a Workvivo data migration.

2. Export – This will start an export process from Workplace, which will provide Workvivo with secure access to your Workplace data.

3. Import – This process can be fully automated, or we can work with you to configure specific parameters around the import.

4. Complete – Once completed, your Workplace data will be accessible from within your Workvivo environment.
